Pastor Mitch Smith

Mitch Smith received Christ with his father, Joe, when he was only six years old. When he was sixteen, he encountered the Holy Spirit, and the Lord gave him a burden to love people into the Kingdom of God. After graduating with a Bachelor in Business Administration from University of Kentucky, Mitch was blessed and sent out to Penn State University where he started a campus ministry with Maranatha until it disbanded in 1990.

Mitch and his wife, Rebie, were led to turn their campus church into a community church in 1990. Their heart behind the transition was to “love the community into deeper relationships with Jesus.” They believe church is more than just Sunday morning, so the church took on a role as a community center to serve the public from sports events to birthday parties. Christ Community now serves thousands of people throughout the community every year.
